Let us come together and intercede for the city of San Diego, particularly the Commission on Police Practices, as they strive to implement recommended changes following their review of police pursuits. We are reminded in Proverbs 21:1, "The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires." Just as the heart of a king is in God's hand, so are the hearts of those in authority. Let us pray that God guides the decisions of the commission members, granting them wisdom, discernment, and integrity.
However, we must address that the use of the term "crooked" to describe policemen may not align with the spirit of respect and honor we are called to have for authorities, as outlined in Romans 13:1-2, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment." While we should pray for justice and righteousness in their actions, we should also pray for them as individuals, that they may turn to God and walk in His ways.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the city of San Diego and the Commission on Police Practices. We ask that You grant the commission members wisdom and discernment as they implement changes to police practices. Guide them, Lord, and lead them to make decisions that promote justice, righteousness, and peace in the city.
We also pray for the policemen in San Diego. Lord, we ask that any injustice or corruption be brought to light and dealt with according to Your will. We pray for the salvation of these officers, that they may come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We ask that You help them to walk in integrity and honor, serving and protecting the community as unto You.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you, Anonymous, to continue praying for your city and its authorities. Remember the words of 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence." Keep interceding, trusting that God hears and answers your prayers.
