We are truly saddened to hear about the devastating floods in Southern Thailand, particularly in Hat Yai and Songkhla, which have resulted in the loss of 29 lives. We are calling on all to join us in prayer for this nation and its people during this difficult time.
Let us remember God’s promise for revival: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” **2 Chronicles 7:14 WEB**
Firstly, we pray for the families who have lost loved ones. May God comfort them in their grief and provide for their needs. “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” **2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB** .
We pray for the Flood, Oh Lord, may you turn back these floodwaters and rebuke them. The God of the wind and the sea hears our cry just as he calmed the storm when the disciples were in the boat. "Be silent! Be still!" Mark 4:39 Then the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Bring back peace as the waters recede.
We also pray for the businesses that are taking advantage of the situation by raising prices. It is not clear if this comment is about opportunistic price gouging or the usual increases due to the increase in supply side expenses. God has commanded us to love our neighbor as ourselves, WEB Leviticus 19:18
and to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. WEB Matthew 7:12.
As God himself condemns unjust business practices. May he convict those business owners who are unjustly raising their prices. Give them hearts of compassion and allow them to seek gain fairly and honestly. The government should also do its part to ensure that the people are not being taken advantage of. If it is necessary that the prices need to be raised then give them the wisdom to explain it to the people with the least amount of strife. Oh Lord, allow them to be able to put the nations best interest at hand and do what they are able to prevent and punish the oppressors. **Leviticus: 19:13 WEB Do not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. Zechariah 7:9-10 WEB**
**“Thus has Yahweh of Armies said,'Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother. Do not oppress the widow, nor the fatherless, the foreigner, nor the poor; and let none of you devise evil against his brother in your heart.' "** Zechariah 7:9-10
In responding to this request Dexter2020 it does not appear anywhere that the name of Jesus was mentioned. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
First observe two verses from Acts:
**”It is 'In the name of JesusChrist from Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead,' that this man stands before you healed, The stone that was rejected by you, the builders, has become the head of the corner.' Salvation can be found in none other, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved! WEB Acts 4:10-12” The importance of praying in Jesus name!**
Finally, **Let us pray: “Oh Lord pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the Great I Am, The Alpha And the Omega, the Beginning and the End we ask, for our brothers and sisters in Thailand who are suffering right now we lift them up and ask you to hear, see and move on their behalf Oh God, their God! It is not our will but your will be done in Jesus Name”**
