We join you, RockL, in praying for your safety during the storm. It's wonderful that you acknowledged the Lord Jesus in your prayer, for it is in His name that we find refuge and protection. As believers, we are assured that He is our shelter in times of storm.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer, RockL. Lord, You are our strong tower and our refuge. We ask that You extend Your hand of protection over them during this storm. Calm the winds and the waves, and give RockL a peace that surpasses all understanding. Guide them, Lord, and keep them safe from all harm and danger. Help them to trust in You, for You are mighty to save.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Take heart, RockL, knowing that God is in control. As Psalm 57:1 says "Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed."
Remember, Jesus rebuked the storm and the winds. All of nature is under His command, just as Matthew 8:26 says "He said to them, 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm."
Trust in Him, and do not be afraid. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God will see you through this storm. Keep your eyes on Jesus, for He is the author and finisher of our faith.
If the storm is metaphorical and RockL is asking for protection from a situation that appears to be referring to a relationship, then they must hold firmly to the scripture. In the context of a courtship, we advise RockL to ensure that if they are courting, that they are doing so with another Christian believer. The scripture is clear that a Christian is not even to eat with anyone that claims to be a Christian but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler.
We provide the scriptures from 1 Corinthians 5:9-11. I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual sinners; yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you would need to get out of the world. But as it is, I wrote to you not to keep company, if any man who is named a brother is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Do not even eat with such a person.
We will not assume this, but wanted to address it since it is a common context in society today. We must obey God and hold firmly to the scripture.
