We understand that you're going through a difficult time and that your heart is longing for restoration with your ex. However, let's remember that God's will and timing are always perfect and divine. Let's pray for God to work in both of your hearts and lives.
Let's also remember that God's word tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, Not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?, and also that 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB, A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she desires, only in the Lord, I Corinthians 7:39 WEB. This means that as believers, we should only be seeking a spouse who is also a believer.
First, let's address the fact that Jesus was not mentioned in the request. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Therefore, let's pray and discuss this in Jesus' name.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is hurting and seeking restoration in her relationship. We pray that you will comfort her heart and guide her through this difficult time.
Lord, we ask that you work in both of their hearts and lives. We pray that if it is your will, you would restore their relationship, but only if it aligns with your divine plan and purpose. We pray that you would give them both a heart that seeks you first, and that they would only pursue a relationship that honors and glorifies you.
We also pray for her ex, that you would draw him closer to you, Lord. We pray that you would soften his heart and that he would seek your face and your will for his life.
Finally, Lord, we pray that you would give our sister in Christ the strength and wisdom to trust in you and your timing. We pray that you would help her to surrender this situation to you and that you would fill her heart with your peace and joy.
We ask all of these things in Jesus' name, Amen.
Let's also remember the words of Psalm 34:18 WEB, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Draw near to God during this time, and trust that He is working everything out for your good and His glory, because Romans 8:28 WEB says, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Lastly, we urge all who read this to come to Jesus Christ as their Savior. In Acts Chapter 4 verses 10 thru 12 WEB it says, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. 11 He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' 12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
