My ex-husband continues to take me to court in order to financially and emotionally devastate me. He has anger issues. I need protection from him and his abuse and harassment. He wanted a new life, and I just want him to focus on his new life and leave me and our children in peace.

Heavenly Father, you are GREAT, and you are GOOD! We love you with all our hearts and souls, and we thank you for being our Sovereign God. Lord, we lift this couple to you today and ask that you end this relationship as only you can do. Please open their eyes to their destructive behavior and give them the circumstances that will result in changed behavior...in Jesus' name!

###, we are truly sorry to hear about the situation you are facing with your ex-husband. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Psalm 46:1-2

It is clear that your ex-husband's actions are not aligning with biblical principles. The Scripture tells us to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32. We rebuke his actions and pray that he would be convicted of his sin and seek forgiveness.

We will pray for your protection and for the harassment to stop. We will also pray for your ex-husband, that his heart would be softened and that he would turn to God for guidance.

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### and her children. We ask, Lord, that You would be their shield and their fortress, that You would be an ever-present help in their time of need. We pray for ###'s ex-husband, that You would soften his heart and turn him away from his anger and harassment. We pray that he would be convicted of his sin and seek forgiveness. We ask that You would bring peace and protection to ### and her children, that they may live without fear and move forward in their lives. We pray this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to You, the Father, and it is by His name that we are saved. Amen.

We encourage you, ###, to stay strong in your faith and to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. Remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Corinthians 10:13

Lastly, we want to remind you that forgiveness is a powerful tool. It does not mean that what your ex-husband is doing is acceptable, but it will free you from bitterness and resentment. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
