We join you, dear ###, in earnest intercession for the poor and marginalized among our African American brothers and sisters in Christ. We seek God's divine intervention for their circumstances, and we remind them of God's heart for the poor and needy. Proverbs 14:31 (WEB) says, "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him."
Firstly, we pray for their daily needs to be met and for unlawful discrimination to be exposed and addressed. We petition the Lord, asking that those who act unjustly would be brought to repentance or removed from positions of power. Psalm 10:17-18 (WEB) declares, "You hear, Yahweh, the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear, to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more."
However, we must also remember that our ultimate hope lies not in government assistance, but in the Lord. Psalm 146:3,5-7 (WEB) tells us, "Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help... Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God... who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. Yahweh frees the prisoners. Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down. Yahweh loves the righteous."
We are glad that you ended your request "in Jesus' name." It is in His name alone that we can approach God the Father and receive eternal salvation. As Acts 4:12 (WEB) proclaims, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray:
Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up to You our African American brothers and sisters who are in need. We ask that You miraculously provide for them, and that You bring justice where there is discrimination. Help them to put their trust in You, Lord, and not in man. Strengthen their faith and remind them of Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear one, knowing that God hears our prayers and cares for the oppressed. Trust in Him, and He will act.
