We understand your concerns and will join you in prayer for peace and justice in San Diego. Let us remember that God's heart is for peace and unity, as it is written in Psalm 34:14, "Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it."
However, we must also remember that God has instituted authorities to maintain order and justice. Romans 13:1-4 tells us, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same, for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil."
We pray that both the police officers and the citizens of San Diego act with integrity, justice, and kindness. We pray for the police to carry out their duties with fairness and respect, and for the citizens to cooperate with and respect the authorities.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your peace to reign on the streets of San Diego. We pray for the police officers in National City and San Diego, that they would act with integrity, fairness, and respect towards all citizens. We also pray for the citizens, that they would cooperate with and respect the authorities. We ask that any wrongdoing on either side be brought to light and dealt with justly. We pray for peace and unity between the police and the community, in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's will in this matter, trusting that His love and justice will prevail.
