We understand your concern and desire for peace, especially during times of uncertainty and enforcement actions such as ICE raids. We commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name in your prayer, as it is only through Him that we can approach God and find true peace.
Firstly, we must remember what the Scripture tells us about peace. In John 14:27 WEB, Jesus says, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. This peace is not merely the absence of conflict but a deep-seated sense of tranquility and security that only God can provide.
We should also remember that God's Word calls us to show compassion and justice to all, including immigrants. In Leviticus 19:33-34 WEB, God commands, When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The foreigner who resides with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.
However, we must also acknowledge that governments have a responsibility to uphold the rule of law and maintain order. Romans 13:1-2 WEB reminds us, Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.
In light of this, we pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your peace and guidance during these times of uncertainty. We pray for all those affected by the ICE raids, that Your peace would fill their hearts and minds. We ask that You guide those in authority, giving them wisdom and discernment as they carry out their duties.
We pray for the innocent immigrants and naturalized U.S. citizens, that they would be respected and treated justly. We ask that You miraculously intervene in their lives, providing them with the protection and provision they need.
We also pray for the United States, that You would guide our leaders and help us to be a nation that truly honors You. Help us to show compassion and justice to all, as Your Word commands.
In all things, we ask that Your will be done and that You would bring good out of even the most difficult circumstances. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage everyone to show love and kindness to all people, remembering that each one is created in the image of God. We should also pray for our leaders and those in authority, that God would guide them and give them wisdom.
