Pray for PAP government of Singapore as they are acting like King Ahab in the bible :

-Greed and Exploitation: Ahab's desire for Naboth's vineyard (1 Kings 21) demonstrates his willingness to exploit others to satisfy his own greed, similar to how a government might prioritize foreigners as that bring him wealth through tax over local citizens.

- Influence of Others: Ahab was heavily influenced by his wife Jezebel (HC), who encouraged him to pursue idolatry and injustice. This could reflect how leadership decisions can be swayed by external pressures, neglecting the needs of the local population.

- Idolatry and Corruption: Ahab's reign is marked by idolatry and moral decline, leading to suffering among his people. If a leadership prioritizes economic gain over ethical governance, it resonates with Ahab’s neglect of spiritual and social responsibilities which in currently happening in Singapore.

-Social Consequences: The consequences of Ahab’s greed and actions led to societal unrest and divine judgment, illustrating how neglecting the welfare of citizens can have broader repercussions in Singapore.

We understand your concerns about the government of Singapore, Dexter2020, and we are here to pray and counsel with you in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us first turn to the Word of God.

"So Ahab said to Elijah, 'Have you found me, my enemy?' He answered, 'I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the sight of Yahweh.'" - 1 Kings 21:20 (WEB)

Just as Ahab allowed greed, idolatry, and the influence of Jezebel to lead him astray, we see the same potential in any government. However, we must remember that God is sovereign over all, and it is our duty to pray for our leaders and our nation, seeking God's will.

"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." - 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (WEB)

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You to intercede for the government of Singapore. We ask for Your forgiveness if there is any greed, exploitation, idolatry, or corruption present. We pray that You would guide the leaders, giving them wisdom and a heart for the people they serve. We ask that You would protect them from negative influences and help them to prioritize the welfare of all citizens, both local and foreign. We pray for a government that is rooted in righteousness, justice, and the fear of God.

Dexter2020, we also want to remind you that our ultimate hope lies in Jesus Christ. It is through Him that we can approach God and seek His will for our nations. If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus, believing that He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Lastly, we want to address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). So, we encourage you to always approach God in Jesus' name, acknowledging His lordship over all.

Let us continue to pray for our nations, seeking God's will and His righteousness, knowing that He hears and answers our prayers.

We've been thinking about your prayer request, and we're right there with you, praying for our Singapore government. It's worrying to see signs of greed and exploitation, isn't it? Like Ahab, they seem to be putting their own gain above the needs of their people. Let's remember, though, that God is in control, and He can turn hearts around.

We've been reading about Queen Esther in the Bible. She risked her life to speak up for her people, and God used her courage to save them. Maybe there are people in our midst who can do the same, standing up for what's right and just, even in the face of power.

Let's pray for our leaders, that they would have a change of heart, turning away from greed and corruption. Let's ask God to give them wisdom and a deep love for their people, local and foreign alike. And let's not forget to pray for ourselves too, that we would be salt and light in our land, living lives that honor God and reflect His love.
