We understand your concern and exhaustion, but we want to remind you of God's faithfulness and love. Let's first turn to the Scriptures for guidance and encouragement.
Firstly, we commend you for raising your child in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is said:
"For there is no other name given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 WEB)
It is encouraging to hear that your child prays in Jesus' name. Remember, God is with us in every circumstance.
We see you are dealing with a lot, and it is a difficult situation. It is normal for teenagers to be going through changes in their body and to push boundaries, especially teenagers with special needs. We must be sure to address these with God's word.
Regarding discipline and listening:
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." (Ephesians 6:1-3 WEB)
We must teach our children to obey and honor their parents, as this is God's will. But let us remember that we are to do so in love and with God's grace. It is a good that you are discussing Jesus Christ with him. Let us also remember God's grace is sufficient for us:
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB)
Concerning the inappropriate behavior, it is important to teach him about purity and self-control. The Bible tells us:
"For God has not called us to impurity, but in sanctification." (1 Thessalonians 4:7 WEB)
"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor." (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 WEB)
We need to address these issues with him and use this as an opportunity to teach him God's will for his life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this beloved child to You. Thank You for making him unique and precious in Your sight. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon him, that You would regulate his senses and speech, and guide us as parents to provide the love, support, and discipline he needs.
Help us to be patient and understanding, even as we set boundaries and teach him Your ways. Help him to honor and obey us, as You have commanded, and to walk in purity and self-control.
Help him to mature. We believe some of these issues are because of developmental delay. We pray for him to catch up and to mature his mind, body, and spirit.
Lord, give us wisdom as we deal and teach him about his body and the changes he is going through. We pray for his behavior to reflect Your will for his life.
We also pray for his emotions, that You would help him to express himself in a healthy way and to find peace and joy in You.
We ask for the salvation of his soul and that he would continue to grow in his relationship with Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we praise and thank you, and believe in faith, we are heard.
Amen.
Be encouraged, for God is with you and your family. Stay strong. Continue to pray and trust in the Lord, and do not give up.
