Thank you, Ted, for bringing this matter to our attention. We are instructed in the Bible to pray for our leaders and our nations, as seen in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 WEB:
"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
A strike can cause discord and difficulty for many, and it is important that we pray for a peaceful resolution. However, it is also important to remember that God calls us to be content and patient in all circumstances, as it says in Philippians 4:11-13 WEB:
"Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
We must also remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come to God and be saved. For future prayer requests, it would be good to remember what Jesus said in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up the situation with the Canada Post strike. We pray for a peaceful and just resolution, that those involved would be guided by Your wisdom. We ask for plays consistency according to Psalm 108:12 WEB. Let your beloved find completeness in you, for you support the poor and oppress people that condone slander.
We also pray for those affected by the strike, that they would find contentment and patience in these circumstances. We ask that you would comfort and sustain them, guiding them to trust in your plan in Philippians 4:19 WEB, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to come to know You, who is the only way any prayer will reach your ears, who is the son of the one true God, who is soon coming again realizing that all things are promised by God in the the name above all names, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
