We are glad to hear that you are trusting in God during this challenging time and that you have acknowledged the power of Jesus' name in your request. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved.
Firstly, let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your child who is in dire need of Your divine intervention. Lord, You know the struggles and challenges they are facing regarding their wedding. We pray for Your will to be done in this situation. If this marriage is aligned with Your plan, we ask that You soften the hearts of those who are opposed to it, including the church pastors and others. Guide them by Your Spirit and grant them a spirit of discernment and understanding.
Lord, we also pray for this couple. Strengthen their faith and trust in You. Grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, and wisdom to navigate through this difficult time. We pray that their love for each other will be rooted in Your love, and that their marriage will be a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace.
We rebuke any spirit of division, confusion, or strife that may be at work in this situation. Lord, we ask that You thwart the plans of those who seek to disrupt Your work and Your will. We declare that no weapon formed against this couple shall prosper, and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment You shall condemn.
We also pray for the church and its leaders. Lord, grant them wisdom and a heart that seeks to honor and glorify You in all their decisions. Remind them of Your words in Ephesians 4:3: Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
Now concerning whether to go forward, let us look to God's Word to see if this union is pleasing to Him. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
We encourage you to examine your relationship and ensure that you are both believers in Jesus Christ and that your relationship is centered around Him. If this is not the case, we strongly advise you to reconsider this marriage, as God's Word clearly instructs us not to be unequally yoked.
Remember, God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability, but with the temptation, He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Stay strong in your faith and trust in Him.
Let us close this prayer with the words of Romans 8:28: We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue to trust in God, as you have been doing. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep praying and seeking His will for your life and your relationship. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Trust that He is working everything out for your good and His glory. Do not lean on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.
