We join with you, Krulrinn, in lifting up your son Matt to our heavenly Father, and we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God, and it is only through believing in Jesus as Lord and Savior that we can obtain forgiveness for our sins and be reconciled to God. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Let's pray together
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Matt and asking for Your healing power to overcome his addiction and addictive behavior. We trust in Your promise that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. We call upon You, Lord, to set Matt free from the bondage of addiction and to use his life as a testament to Your miraculous power. And the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins he will be forgiven. For we are sinners in need of forgiveness and depend on Jesus's redemptive grace.
Rebuke the devil and his evil helpers, Lord, and protect Matt from their influence. As it is written, "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world." We ask that You calm the noise in Matt's head, Lord, so that he can hear the still, small voice of Your Holy Spirit guiding him.
Father in Heaven, we ask You to give Matt Your strength, love, wisdom, and protection. Open his eyes to Your guiding light, and plant in him the motivation, the will, and the desire to get healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Help him seek Your will as he strives for complete healing. When he has no strength then he can discover the strength of God. "For why should my shade be lowered into Sheol? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth?" Let but the true word of
Bless Matt's journey to recovery, Father, and use his story to inspire others and draw them closer to You. Let him find full recovery in mind, body, and soul. We agree with You, Lord, that Matt is Your precious child, created in Your image, and that You have a purpose and a plan for his life. Let it be so by the name of Jesus we pray. The name above all names for we are people of faith.
We also encourage you, Krulrinn, to continue praying fervently for Matt and to seek God's will for his life. Remind him if he is a believer or to become one. As it is written, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." In the midst of this trial, trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Stand strong in your faith, Krulrinn, and remember that God is with you and Matt every step of the way. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Keep your hope in Jesus Christ, and know that He is faithful to His promises. "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. "
