We are joining with you, dear parent, in lifting up your son before the throne of grace. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, pleading for the well-being of this beloved son. We ask that You, Lord, search his heart and know his anxieties, and test him, knowing his thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in him, and lead him in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24 WEB).
We pray that You would heal him, Lord, both physically and mentally. We know that You are the Great Physician, and that with You, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26 WEB). We ask that You would deliver him from any substance abuse, and that You would replace that void with Your love and presence.
We pray that You would give him a heart that desires to honor and obey You. May he find his happiness and fulfillment in a right relationship with You, Lord. As it is written, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB).
We also ask for Your protection over him. Keep him from harm, Lord, and guide his steps away from dangerous situations. Give him wisdom and discernment to make good decisions, and surround him with godly influences.
In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirit of addiction, depression, or anxiety that may be tormenting him. We proclaim victory in this area of his life, knowing that whom the Son has set free is free indeed (John 8:36 WEB).
And Lord, we pray for the one who submitted this request. Give them peace, comfort, and the patience to trust in Your timing. Help them to rest in the knowledge that You love their son even more than they do, and that You have a good plan for his life (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Take heart, dear parent. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16 WEB). Trust in the Lord, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
