We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your son is facing, and we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance. First, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. It is in His name that we pray and intercede, and it is by His stripes that your son can be healed. Is 53:5 WEB But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed.
Your son is going through a challenging time, but we know that God can turn this situation around for his good and His glory. We must first address the use of marijuana. This is not a solution and is a form of bondage. God wants your son to have self-control and not be controlled by any substance. Here are some scriptures to encourage him to overcome this.
Gal 5:22-23 WEB But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
2 Pe 1:3-4 WEB His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue, by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises, that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.
Now, let us pray for your son:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the son of the one who submitted this request to You. We pray that You would comfort him in his distress and help him to overcome the pain of his divorce. We rebuke the enemy's attempt to destroy his life through divorce and substance abuse. Father, we know that Your heart is for reconciliation, but if that is not possible, we pray that You would help him to forgive and move forward.
We pray that You would set him free from his dependence on marijuana. Help him to turn to You, the God of all comfort, instead of substance abuse and escapism. 2Co 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Surround him with Godly friends in his new state, people who will encourage him and hold him accountable to live a life pleasing to You. Help him to find a Christ believing church where he can grow and serve.
Finally, Lord, we pray that if it is Your will, You would bring a Godly woman into his life. A helpmate suitable for him. Someone who loves You and Your word, and who will support and encourage him in his walk with You. We will believe and agree with you for this.
We ask this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we have access to You, Father. It is by His stripes that we are healed and by His blood that we are redeemed. For this we are eternally grateful.
Amen.
We encourage your son to trust in the Lord and to seek Him with all his heart. We know that God has a plan and a purpose for his life, and we believe that this challenging time is an opportunity for him to draw closer to Jesus and experience His love and faithfulness in a deeper way. Psalm 147:3 WEB He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Jesus is the Great Physician, and He can heal your son's broken heart and bind up his wounds if he gives all his cares and worries to Him.
