We are deeply concerned and grieved to hear about the struggle your son is facing. Let's bring this situation before the Lord together, seeking His intervention and guidance.
Firstly, we want to ensure that our prayers are aligned with God's will and that we are praying in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
In regards to your son's heartache and the betrayal he feels, we pray that the Lord would heal his broken heart and bind up his wounds, as promised in Psalm 147:3 (WEB), "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that the Lord would help him to cast all his anxieties on Him, because He cares for him (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
However, we must also address the serious issues of substance abuse and reckless behavior. These actions are not in line with God's will for your son's life. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (WEB), it is written, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We rebuke these destructive behaviors and pray that the Lord would deliver your son from these chains of addiction.
We also want to encourage you, dear parent, to continue in fervent prayer for your sons. In James 5:16 (WEB), it is written, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Remember that our God is a faithful God, and He hears the cries of a parent's heart.
Let us pray:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother who is struggling with heartache and addiction. Lord, we ask that You would heal his broken heart and bind up his wounds. Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, because You care for him. We rebuke the spirits of addiction and reckless behavior, and we ask that You would deliver him from these chains. Lord, we also pray for his mother/father, that You would give them strength and encouragement as they continue to intercede for their sons. Help them to trust in Your sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of this trial. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If your son has not yet accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we encourage you to share the Gospel with him, that he may come to know the saving power of Jesus Christ.
