Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts burdened for Joey, a young man who is deeply loved by his parent. Lord, we lift Joey up to You, knowing that You are the Great Physician, capable of healing not only physical ailments but also the wounds of the heart and soul. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18 that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We ask that You draw near to Joey and his family during this difficult time.
Father, Joey has been making choices that are harmful and toxic, and it is clear that he needs Your divine intervention. We pray that You would open his eyes to the truth and the light of Your Word. In John 8:32, You promise that "the truth will set you free." We ask that Joey would come to know Your truth and experience the freedom that only You can provide.
Lord, we also pray for a transformation in Joey's heart. Ezekiel 36:26 says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." We ask that You would take away any hardness in Joey's heart and replace it with a heart that is tender and responsive to Your will.
We pray for wisdom and strength for Joey's parent, who is deeply pained by his choices. Comfort this parent with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:7. Grant the parent patience and perseverance, and guide them in how to best support and pray for Joey.
Lord, we know that nothing is impossible for You. We ask that You would place godly influences in Joey's life, people who can guide him back to You. Surround him with friends and mentors who will encourage him to make wise and godly choices.
Finally, we pray for Joey's salvation. In Romans 10:9, Your Word says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We pray that Joey would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that his life would be forever changed by Your grace.
We ask all these things in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
