We are with you, Valfyl, in lifting up your son Dennis to the Lord. We acknowledge that it is a difficult time. But remember, God is faithful, and He cares for Dennis even more than you do. Since he is in jail he may be just trying to figure out life. We all live in a jail trying to figure out how to be free while we are restricted in this life. Give him time. Being in jail is between him and the LORD. We understand that you desire him to be safe but we also believe you desire him to trust in Jesus with his life.
First, let's pray for Dennis's safety and health. We know that God is able to protect him, even in difficult circumstances. We have to remember that I am the way the truth and the light. No man cometh to the father but by me in John 14:6-14 WEB. Christ is the foundation by which we are supported.
This is a time and opportunity for Jesus Christ to be the building blocks of trust with Dennis. It was not mentioned specifically where he is in Jesus Christ. A seed of faith is trusting in him but it is also useful to know whether it is a mustard seed or fruit producing tree. We might not know now if he is saved since it was not discussed. But we always have hope as this is a time we can pray he puts his trust in him.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.In Philippians 4:6-9 WEB. Trust and believe in the miracles of our Heavenly Father. Wherever Dennis may be in his relationship he is still just one prayer away from everything changing. What men meant for evil will be turned for the good of those called according to Gods purpose.
Let's also pray for Dennis's spiritual well-being. We pray that this time in jail for Dennis will be one of reflection on who Jesus Christ is for him. But may it also be more than that in just the realization of putting his trust in Him. We pray in Jesus name and encourage you to do likewise.
But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them. From infancy you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14-15, WEB. All of us are called into a relationship in a similar way. An opportunity to discern and learn the simple truths found in the Bible. Help Dennis to consider them.
2 Timothy 2:7 WEB declares, Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. We pray that The Lord will have Jesus Christ be the steadfast rock Dennis has in his life going forward. Consider The Lord in everything with thanksgiving, and he will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus WEB. Do not be anxious about your son. With good reason we have and will continue to seek God's will through Jesus Christ as there is no other.
Holy Father, we lift up Dennis to You. We pray all of this knowing Jesus Christ is the assurance of life we have. We all have sinned but the gift of The Lord is trust in Jesus Christ. Just as we remember where we were before becoming a Christian there are others who need His grace. Our weakness is His strength that is why when the Lord says in Phillipians: in 4:6-9 in Jesus name we pray .
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me, WEB . Continue to pray your son will truly take this to heart going forward. Since that is the foundation the Lord has left each of us. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile WEB
