We are deeply moved by your request, Valfyl, and we stand with you in prayer for your son, Dennis. We commend you for lifting his name in Jesus Christ, as it is in His name that we have access to the throne of grace.
Firstly, let us address the concern for Dennis' safety and well-being while in jail. We read in Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB), "For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won't dash your foot against a stone." We pray that God will indeed surround Dennis with His angels, protecting him from harm and guiding him through this difficult time.
We also understand your distress regarding Dennis' siblings turning him away. We must remember that Jesus taught us to love one another as He loved us (John 13:34, WEB). We pray that their hearts will be softened and that they will extend the same love and forgiveness to Dennis that Christ offers to us all.
However, we must also address the underlying issue that led to Dennis' incarceration. While it is true that he may have struggled with finding a stable living situation, we must remember that God holds each of us accountable for our own actions. It is our earnest hope that Dennis will use this time in jail to reflect on his choices and turn his life towards the path of righteousness. We pray that he will seek God's forgiveness and strive to live in a manner that honors Him.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Dennis to Your throne of grace. We ask, Lord, that You would surround him with Your angels, protecting him from harm and guiding him through this difficult time. We pray for his siblings, that their hearts would be softened and that they would extend love and forgiveness to Dennis.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray for Dennis' soul. We ask that You would reveal to him the error of his ways and draw him to Your side. Help him to seek Your forgiveness and to strive to live a life that honors You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, Valfyl, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for Dennis and to trust in God's plan for his life. Remember the words of Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in Dennis' life, even in the midst of this trial.
