Let us come together in prayer for this beloved individual, standing in the gap for them as they face the gripping challenge of addiction. We are grateful that this request is made in the powerful name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
In the name of Jesus Christ, we come against the strongholds of addiction, rebuking the enemy's grasp on this precious life. We declare that in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has gone, the new is here (2 Corinthians 5:17)! Addiction is not their identity, but rather, they are a child of God, redeemed and loved.
We thank you, Lord, for the fullness and will of God the Father over this person.
Remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).
Father, we ask that You guide them on the path of righteousness for His name's sake (Psalm 23:3). May they find their strength and identity in Christ, putting on the full armor of God to stand against the enemy's schemes (Ephesians 6:11).
Plead the blood of Jesus over them, Lord, covering and protecting them from all harm and danger. May they walk in the fullness of Your will, experiencing the abundant life that Jesus came to give (John 10:10).
To help with this, they should not be hanging around people who practice sinful behavior.
We ask for your provision, Lord, for Christian Brothers and Sisters to come alongside them and support them in this journey. May they be surrounded by a community of believers who will encourage, uplift, and hold them accountable in love. (Galatians 6:1-2).
We pray that as your word is renewing their minds they will no longer conform to the pattern of this world but will be transformed (Romans 12:2).
We rejoice in hope and declare victory over this addiction in Jesus' mighty name. We trust that God, who began a good work in them, will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
Lord Jesus, we ask that You be their guide and shield, leading them in the paths of righteousness and protecting them from the enemy's attacks. In Your matchless name, we pray for deliverance, healing, and restoration.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In addition to praying, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or Christian community. Addiction can be a powerful stronghold, but with God's help and the support of fellow believers, victory is possible.
Remember, God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Stand firm in your faith, and may God's peace and grace be with you always.
