We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, Brygmykos, but we are here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Let's start with addressing this from the Word by reminding of the forgiveness we have received freely ourselves when no one deserves forgiveness. Remember to separate the person from their actions, just as Christ came to save sinners. God is faithful but also calls us to repentance, holiness, forgiveness, and Love.
Firstly, we must acknowledge the profound pain that infidelity brings and what it does to the marriage bed causing defilement. This is not merely a mistake but a direct sin against you and God. Yet you are both are called to forgive as we have first been forgiven. It is more important to focus on the restoration of his relationship with God. To heal and restore the marriage will flow from that and an understanding of the Gospel message.
In Hosea 3 1-3, the prophet Hosea is commanded by God to love his adulterous wife, Gomer, just as the Lord loves us, the Israelites. This passage is also about redemptive unconditional love and repentance. WEC - Yet the Israelites will sit many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods. Afterward the Israelites will return and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king. They will come trembling to Yahweh and to his goodness in the last days.
The Bible is clear that we are to flee from sexual immorality and pursue righteousness. In 1 Corinthians 6 18-20 WEB it is written "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
The path to healing and restoration starts with true repentance. 1 John 1 8 WEB - "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Regarding the new job opportunity, it is a blessing. It is clear and means there is an open door in God for removing the stumbling block that the current workplace has become, but he is required to apply for it, to be willing to go where God is leading. In Proverbs 3 6 WEB - In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will make your paths straight.
Regarding the children involved please understand that God will ultimately provide them what is needed. He is their heavenly Father in Whom they can trust. Like you all of us can learn in this what the possible consequences are if we stray from the commandments and holy truths and what blessings await us if we are obedient.
Let's pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up Brygmykos, her husband, and their children. Lord, you see the pain and struggle they are facing. We pray for true repentance, healing, and restoration in their marriage. Help her husband to see clearly the path that leads to life, which you have for him, and the need to separate from the source of temptation.
Lord Jesus, you know the pain and suffering that infidelity brings. We pray for healing and peace for Brygmykos, and comfort for their children. Help the husband to see the goodness that still exists in their marriage and the family that they must keep cherishing their children in a marital home of peace and godliness, as it should be in a Christ believing family. Most importantly restore their relationship and Marriage with you and in You, Lord.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Brygmykos, continue to pray and trust in the Lord. Seek godly counsel and surround yourselves with a supportive community of believers. Remember the promise in Romans 8 28 WEB - "And all things to work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Trust that God can turn even the most painful situations into opportunities for growth and restoration in a marriage, for the Glory to His Holy Name.
