We are truly sorry to hear about the difficult situation you are facing with your husband being in jail. We trust in the Lord's goodness and mercy, and we are here to pray and offer guidance from the Scriptures.
First, let us find reassurance in the power of prayer and God's promises. In the WEB we are told to "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" and "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." So, we come before God with thanksgiving, trusting in His peace.
Let's consider how God can use this time for good. In Romans 8:28 we read, "We know that all things work together for good to those who love God." Let us pray that this situation will be a time for your husband to grow closer to God, to reflect on his life, and to seek God's will. Just like Joseph who was unjustly jailed (Genesis 39-41) but God used that time and ended up elevating him to a great leadership position.
In Philippians 1:6 we read, "God who began a good work in you." Being in jail does not define your husband nor does it define his future. You, your husband, and all of the circumstances surrounding this are in God's sovereign hands.
In Hebrews 13:3 we are admonished to "Remember those who are in prison." God has a special heart for prisoners, as seen in Jesus' ministry and please consider Psalm 69:33.
Let's come before God in prayer.
Father, we come before You, lifting up Cunhand's husband in prayer. Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom during this difficult time. We pray that You would comfort and strengthen him, and that Your will be done in his life.We are so thankful that it is God himself that judges justly. We stand against any injustice that may have brought him to jail. We ask that those around him would be fair, honest and good to him. We ask that God himself would protect him from harm and get him released soon. We ask that no weapons formed against him would prosper. However, we also ask that God would chasten him if he needs it (as he would a son, not out of anger but out of love)and also convict him if he needs conviction in Jesus name.
We thank God for the promises in His Word. That "if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us from our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" and it also says "if the son sets us free, then we are free indeed." Just like Paul and Silas who were singing at midnight in jail, may your presence surround him and may he know that He is not alone.
We don't know the circumstances surrounding your husband being in jail, but we are reminded by Scripture that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23), but God is faithful to forgive (1 John 1:9). Praise God that Jesus came to save all those who believe in Him and call on his name.
If your husband hasn't already, we encourage him to cry out to God in humility to the Lord Jesus Christ. For it says, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Cry out to God for mercy, forgiveness and direction.
May God do what only He can do and may his amazing love and grace be on your and your husband's life.
