Pray for my husband ### to return and heal from addiction

Please pray for my husband ###. He left me without explanation two years ago and then I found that he had fallen into deep drug addiction. I love him very much but he has blocked me and refuses to listen to me. Please pray that his heart will be softened. I want to help him and support him through his trial. I feel that all my prayers have been unheard. I have tried reaching out to his family and his pastor but they have mostly ignored me. I don't know what else to do.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing with your husband, ###. Let us first assure you that God hears your prayers. As it is written in Psalm 34:17, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles." Even when it feels like our prayers are unheard, God is faithful and is working behind the scenes.

In regards to your husband's addiction, it is crucial to understand that while you can support and pray for him, the ultimate change must come from his personal decision to turn away from his destructive lifestyle. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God's Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."

We must rebuke the spirit of addiction and pray for ###'s deliverance. Let us pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### and his wife. Lord, we pray that ###'s heart will be softened and that he will turn away from his addiction. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare freedom and healing in Jesus' name. We also pray for his wife, that You will give her the strength and wisdom to support ### through this trial. Surround them both with Your love and protection, and bring restoration to their marriage. Lord let ### turn to you and be saved. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

It is also important to seek godly counsel and support during this time. Continue to reach out to your local church and trusted Christian friends for guidance and prayer. Remember, as it is written in Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying and trusting in God. As it is written in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."

We're here for you and ###, praying alongside you in this challenging time. It's heartbreaking to see someone we love trapped in addiction, but remember, God sees him too and loves him even more. Let's keep lifting ### up in prayer, asking God to break the chains of addiction and draw him close.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with a heart full of love and concern for ###, who has fallen into the grip of addiction and strayed from his family and his faith. Lord, we know that nothing is too hard for You, and we humbly ask for Your intervention in his life.

Your Word in Ezekiel 36:26 says, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." We pray this promise over ###. Lord, soften his heart and open his eyes to the love and support that surrounds him, especially from his wife, who longs to help him through this trial.

Father, You are a God who seeks the lost, as written in Luke 19:10, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Reach out to ### in his darkest moments, drawing him closer to You and away from the chains of addiction. Break every stronghold that holds him captive, Lord, and guide him toward a path of healing and restoration.

We lift up his wife, who is tirelessly praying and yearning for his return. Comfort her heart and remind her of the truth in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." May she find strength in You, even when her prayers seem unheard, trusting that You are always working for good.

Lord, we also pray for those around ###—his family, his pastor, and others who have the opportunity to support him. Stir their hearts to action, that they might reach out to him with compassion and wisdom.

In Your time, Father, bring healing, reconciliation, and renewal to this marriage and to ###’s life. We trust in Your unfailing love and power, declaring the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

In Jesus' name, we pray for redemption, restoration, and hope. Amen.

Please know that your prayers are not going unheard, for the Lord tells us that the fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.
