We are truly saddened to hear about your father's diagnosis and current health struggle. Let us remember a very important part of God's word. First, God has a plan for us all and His plan is for us to prosper. Secondly, God is sovereign and in control of all situations and His will, will be done. Thirdly, God will heal us from all of our diseases if we cry out to Him. Let us look at the following verses.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 WEB
Yahweh kills and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol and brings up. Yahweh makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up. He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, and inherit the throne of praise. For the pillars of the earth are Yahwehs, He has set the world on them. 1 Samuel 2:6-8 WEB
Bless Yahweh, my soul, Don't forget all his benefits, Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, Psalm 103:2-4 WEB
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You today in Jesus' name, lifting up the father of our friend who is struggling with sigmoid colon cancer and liver failure. We know that you are a father to the fatherless and we ask for your will in this situation. We pray for your healing over him. We pray for salvation through Jesus Christ if he does not know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. We pray for the family and the difficult decisions that may be ahead. We pray for wisdom and discernment by the doctors. We pray that Your peace that passes all understanding will surround the family at this time. Let us always remember that trials will come, but we can always count on God's promises. Thank you for your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In closing, we should all be aware that our days are numbered and we should strive to be ready for the day we enter eternity.
Lord, make me to know my end, What is the measure of my days, Let me know how frail I am. Behold, you have made my days as handbreadths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath. Selah. Psalm 39:4-5 WEB
