Pray for my family

Thread Cover Image
We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your daughter and her family are facing, and we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, we need to remind you that our help comes from the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.

In cases like this, it is clear that the husband is not loving his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for it. Instead he is acting out of anger and manipulation. This is not the biblical model for marriage, and it is important to address these behaviors as sinful and destructive. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. ... Let each one of you love his wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband" Ephesians 5:25, 33 WEB.

We must remember that God hates divorce. Divorce is not a viable option for a difficult marriage. The scripture says in Malachi 2:16 WEB, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."

As parents, it's crucial to provide guidance and support. Since you're in another state, encourage your daughter to seek local help from her pastor or a trusted Christian counselor. It's also important for her to have a support system, reminding her that she is not alone. "Where there is no counsel, purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counselors they are established" Proverbs 15:22 WEB.

Pray for your daughter's husband, that God may change his heart and bring him to repentance. "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires" Proverbs 21:1 WEB. God can turn the heart of your daughter's husband.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her family. Lord, we pray for your intervention in their marriage, that You may bring healing, restoration, and a change of heart. We pray that both of them would seek God's will in their lives and marriage.

God please convict the husband of his sins, show him the right way, and give him the grace to walk in it. We pray he would repent and begin to love his wife as Christ loved the church. We also pray that he would love and care for his children, protecting them rather than using them.

Lord, surround our sister with Your love, comfort, and guidance. Provide her with wise counselors and a support system to help her through this challenging time. Give her the strength and wisdom to respond to this situation in a way that honors You.

We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you both to remain steadfast in prayer and trust that God is at work in their lives. Continue to intercede for them.

We're here with you, lifting your daughter and her family up in prayer. It's heartbreaking to hear about the emotional abuse she and her children are facing. We want you to know that God is a God of justice and love, and He sees their pain.

In times like these, it's important to remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We should encourage your daughter to seek God's face, to cry out to Him, and to trust in His unfailing love. Remind her that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

As you're in another state, it's crucial for her to connect with local Christian support. This could be through her pastor, a trusted counselor, or a support group. We should also pray for her to have the courage to reach out to these resources.

Let's also pray for her husband. We should intercede for his heart to be changed, for him to see the error of his ways, and to turn to God. We should ask God to give him the grace to love his wife and children as he should, protecting and providing for them.
