Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up Elodie and the entire family in this time of profound loss. Lord, we ask for Your comforting presence to surround them as they mourn the passing of Viergélie. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We claim this promise over Elodie, her mother, Pamela, Gregory, and Marie-Carmel.
Father, we pray especially for Pamela, who was very close to her mother. Comfort her in a way that only You can, Lord. May Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). For Gregory and Marie-Carmel, we ask for emotional and psychological support. Strengthen them, O God, as they navigate this difficult time.
Lord, we also lift up those attending the funeral and reception. Though Elodie and her mother cannot be there physically, we ask that Your presence be felt strongly among all who are gathered. May Your Spirit move mightily to bring comfort, peace, and even joy in the midst of sorrow. Let the memory of Viergélie be a blessing and a testimony of Your grace and love.
In this time of grief, may the family find solace in Your promises. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Revelation 21:4). We trust in Your unfailing love and grace, knowing that You are with us always.
In Jesus' precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
