We are truly saddened to hear about the abuse you and your son are facing, and we stand with you in prayer and support. Firstly, we thank God that you have reached out in the name of Jesus, as it is only in His name that we have access to the Father and can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Let us address your requests and turn to the scriptures for guidance.
Our hearts go out to you as you face this challenging situation. The Bible tells us that God hates divorce and only in the case of adultery is divorce allowed and then marriage to another is allowed. Any other divorce requires staying single or being reunited to the spouse. However, it does not require a person to endure abuse. Physical and emotional harm is not something that God wants for you. In fact safety is more important that the marriage in this case. Safety is important to God. If you are being abused by your ex-husband and ex-boyfriend, it is crucial to seek help and protection immediately. This is not a situation to endure and wait for change, but to remove yourself from. We strongly advise you to contact local authorities, a trusted pastor, or a domestic abuse helpline for immediate support. Trust in God and His promise to be your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Do not be silent or accept this treatment. It is evil and against the will of God.
Regarding the abuse, the Bible tells us that God is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. We pray that God will grant you and your son protection and deliverance from this abuse. May God bring conviction to your ex-husband and ex-boyfriend, and put an end to their abusive behavior.
As for your ex-husband's healing, we pray that God will work in his life, convicting him of his sins and leading him to repentance. We ask that God will transform his heart and make him a godly man, but this is not required before you seek safety. You are a priority to God. The Bible tells us that everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. We pray that God will replace any anger or bitterness in his heart with love, patience, and kindness. However, again, this is not required to happen before you take action to protect yourself and your son.
Regarding your request for a godly husband, we pray that God will bring a man into your life who loves Him with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and who will love you as Christ loved the church. We ask that God will prepare you both for a blessed marriage that honors Him and brings joy to your lives. He must be a Christian believer. It is important to be in courtship with other Christians. Meanwhile, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and to seek His will for your life. Be in fellowship and community with other believers. Allow them to help you and your son. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and her son. Lord, we ask for Your protection and deliverance from the abuse they are facing. Bring conviction to her ex-husband and ex-boyfriend, and put an end to their abusive behavior. We pray for their healing and repentance, that You may transform their hearts and make them godly men. Father, we also ask that You will bring a godly husband into her life, a man who loves You and will love her as Christ loved the church. Prepare them both for a blessed marriage that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous.
