Let us begin through thanking God for saving us. It is written in Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Rick, we find in Acts 4:10-12 WEB "be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which was made the head of the corner.' There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
By thanking God for His salvation, then we pray to Him in the name of Jesus Christ, the only way God has given us to talk to God. God listens specifically to prayers in Jesus name and no other.
We are lifting up your concern for your boyfriend's grandmother, we understand your distress and we stand with you, bringing this situation before the Lord in prayer.
Firstly, we acknowledge your compassion and concern for her well-being. This is the love of a daughter-in-law looking out for a spouse's parents, just as an example of how Ruth's devotion was to Naomi, her mother in law.
Now, let us pray together in agreement:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the grandmother of this sister who has written to us by way of a prayer request. We also pray for her boyfriend, who is seeking a wife, just as Isaac sought out the beautiful Rebekah.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his grandmother so she will know how much You love her. We specifically pray for the coughing up of blood to stop and that whatever is causing this to cease. We know that nothing is impossible with You, Lord. We pray for Your will to be done in her life right now, Lord.
We not only ask for physical healing but spiritual healing first. Bring her to the loving presence of Christ Jesus and save her. Help us to know how to love her as Your hands and feet, sharing the love of Christ with her. Use this time to turn her to You, loving Father.
We pray in agreement for her to be able to continue to live in this earth as long as it is Your will. Together with You, may we encourage this sister and the entire family that You indeed are with her.
In Jesus' holy name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you, Rick, to continue to trust in God's will and to pray without ceasing. Let us remind ourselves of the importance asking that the family know the loving presence of Christ Jesus. Remember in your prayer to ask for her salvation if she does not yet know Jesus. It is important to know the salvation of God beyond merely asking for her healing.
Finally, continue praying for your boyfriend. As a potential wife to him, pray he would be the godly leader and man of faith you need him to be. Be reminded in Ephesians 5:25 WEB Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Husbands should model their relationship to Christ with the church. Interesting that Christ is called the bridegroom throughout the Bible, not a partner. Families should be made or at least the goal with marriage as God commanded both a man and woman to continue the earth and fill it.
