We join with you in prayer, asking God to stir up the hearts of His people to serve others with a true servant's heart. It is important, let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40 WEB: "'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'" When we serve others, especially the least among us, it is as though we are serving Jesus Himself.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking for hearts that are willing to serve. Help us to see the true Gospel, which is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes as described in Romans 1:16 WEB, and to live it out through true service to others. Open our eyes to the needs around us and give us the love and compassion of Christ, that we may serve others as if they were Jesus Christ Himself with no expectation of reward. Help us to be doers of the word and not hearers only, as mentioned in James 1:22-25. Help us to have servants' hearts that are willing to serve even when no one is watching. Remind us Lord that even You said that the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. Help us to imitate You in Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let us encourage one another to live a life of service, remembering that our true and ultimate example of Christ lived a life as a servant. Even though He is Lord and King of all, let us remember what is written in Philippians 2:5-7 WEB: "Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, didn't consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men." God has given each of us unique talents and gifts. When we serve Him and others, we are like lights shining in a dark world. Let our light shine before others, that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. Let us remember Matthew 5:16 WEB.
