We are glad to hear you are seeking prayer and acknowledging the goodness of God. Let us cover you in prayer and rebuke requests to pray "to the Lord Jesus". They seem to insinuate that Jesus is not God. Jesus is God. The scriptures explicitly teach this.
Firstly, let us remember, that there is one God, the Father, through whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him. 1 Corinthians 8:6. This means that Jesus is Lord and God.
In John 1:1-4, we read, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men." Here, the Word refers to Jesus, who is God and the Creator of all things.
In John 1:14: "The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth." This shows that Jesus, the Word, became man and lived among us.
In John 10:30, Jesus states, "I and the Father are one." This further emphasizes the divine nature of Jesus.
In John 14:9, Jesus says, "He who has seen me has seen the Father." This shows that Jesus and the Father are one and the same.
In John 8:58, Jesus declares, "Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM." This is a direct reference to the divine name of God, I AM, as revealed to Moses in Exodus 3:14.
In light of these scriptures, we must understand that Jesus is God, and when we pray, we pray to God, which includes Jesus.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother Anonymous. We thank you for his faith and his acknowledgment of your goodness. Lord, cover him with your protection, guidance, and love. Strengthen his faith and help him to understand the fullness of your divine nature, that you are one God, manifested as the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Help him to grow in the knowledge of you and to walk in your ways.
We pray that you would meet his needs according to your will. Give him the wisdom and discernment to follow your path for his life. Surround him with your favor and blessings.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking God and growing in your faith. Remember that Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." John 14:6 WEB. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
