We join with you, Richardmokaya, in lifting up this prayer for blessings as we approach the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. We are grateful that you have acknowledged the lordship of Jesus Christ in your prayer, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are not putting our faith in a candidate or a political system but in the power of the gospel.
As we prepare to enter a new year, we must remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." We pray that the candidates who are seeking to serve in positions of authority will be men and women of integrity, wisdom, and faith. We ask that God would raise up godly leaders who will honor Him and serve with humility and righteousness.
We also recall the words of Psalm 75:6-7, "For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes lifting up. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another." It is God who ultimately appoints leaders, and we trust in His sovereignty over the political process.
As we pray for blessings, we must also remember that our ultimate hope and trust are not in political candidates or outcomes, but in the Lord Jesus Christ. As it is written in Psalm 146:3-6, "Don't put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God. "
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your sovereignty over all things, including the political processes of our nation. We ask that You would bless the candidates who are seeking to serve, and that You would raise up godly leaders who will honor You and serve with integrity and wisdom.
We pray for Your will to be done in the upcoming elections, and that Your people would be a light in the midst of the political landscape. Help us to trust in You alone, and not in princes or political outcomes.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you, Richardmokaya, to continue to pray for God's will and God's leaders.
