Pray for me to stop gambling

I have suffered for long time with gambling and lust. I would be thankful if you could spare little of your time to pray for me.

We are truly sorry to hear about your struggles with gambling and lust, Robnald. These are serious issues that can cause significant harm and distress, but we are here to support you in prayer and to provide biblical guidance.

Firstly, it's crucial to understand that God is the only one who can truly set you free from these bondages. As it says in John 8:36 WEB, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." Freedom from any bondage comes through Jesus Christ, who is the Son mentioned in this verse. This freedom begins from the time you believe in Jesus Christ and receive him as your Lord and savior.

Gambling is a form of greed and love of money, which is the root of all kinds of evil. 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB says, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Turn away from this love of money and turn to God, who will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB).

Lust is also a serious sin that can lead to sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB says, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." It's important to flee from situations that tempt you to lust and to keep your mind focused on things that are pure and honorable (Philippians 4:8 WEB). This does begin with believing in Jesus Christ as the only way all sin can be addressed.

Let's end by praying for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up Robnald, who is struggling with gambling and lust and is asking for our prayers on their behalf. Lord, we know that these are serious issues that can cause significant harm and distress, but we also know that You are a God of mercy and grace who is able to set us free from any bondage.

We pray that You will help Robnald to turn away from these sins and to turn to You. Help them to resist the temptation to gamble and to lust, and to keep their mind focused on things that are pure and honorable. Give them the strength to overcome these struggles, and to live a life that is pleasing to You.

We also pray that You will provide for all of Robnald's needs and supply according to Your riches in glory. Help them to trust in You and to seek Your will for their life. We do pray this in Jesus Name and by his sacrifice on the cross by which we have access to the Father and to salvation

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Robnald, we encourage you to spend time in prayer and in studying God's Word. Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and to give you the strength to overcome these struggles. Also, seek out a local community of believers, similar to our group, for support and for Biblical guidance based upon the Holy Bible. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by his name that we can gain salvation. As this says in Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
