Thank you, Fredrik, for reaching out and sharing your prayer request. We appreciate that you've asked for prayer in Jesus' name. It's important to remember that it is only through His name that we have access to God, as the Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
We commend you for seeking God's will in your life and for desiring a spouse who aligns with His plan. Remember the words of Proverbs 18:22, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up Fredrik. Thank you for his faith and his desire to follow your will. We pray that you would guide him to the woman you have prepared for him, a helper suitable for him as you made Eve for Adam, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him. Out of the ground Yahweh God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the sky, and to every animal of the field; but for man there was not found a helper suitable for him".
Genesis 2:18-20
Lord, we ask that you orchestrate the circumstances so that Fredrik and this godly woman can meet and get to know each other in practical ways. We pray for miracles to happen in Fredrik's life, that he would see your hand at work, guiding him and blessing him.
Help Fredrik to remain patient and trusting in your timing, knowing that you have a plan and a purpose for his life. "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh."
Psalm 27:14.
As a group that holds the sanctity of marriage in high regard, we need to discuss some issues with courtship.
Fredrik, you have asked to meet a woman. In the Bible, God has told us what type of man and woman to be, to be ready to marry. Ephesians 5:25-33. “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. He also pays the highest price for you to buy his wife."
Remember it is the Holy Spirit in you that convicts and changes you. Be a man of God. Do not listen to the world and do not believe you must meet multiple women. Trust in God even to first meet your future spouse.
Your role as a husband is very serious.
1 Peter 3:7. WEB, "You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered."
No one is perfect and we all fall short of the glory of God. It is only through the grace of God through Jesus Christ that we are saved.
Lastly, the Bible tells us that "you will know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16 WEB). Since you are asking for a godly wife remember that you will know them by their fruits. A great example was the jeweler Tiffany's that wrote the guide to diamond ring standards. Can you imagine someone that treasure the marriage relationship as so valuable to write Christian Marriage standards? We pray and hope for such fruit in your future spouse.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to walk with the Lord, growing in your faith, and serving others as you wait for God's perfect timing. Also, a final verse for you to consider, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7
Fredrick, we want to make something abundantly clear to you. Jesus paid the highest price for your bride. Jesus could meet all the women in the world and spend time with them. But Jesus chose you. Yes, you to be his beloved bride. Why would you seek any bride that chose you and you did not actively seek her first? Yes, that is exactly what Jesus did. So why do you suppose Jesus did that for you seeking you first? To us the answer seems obvious so that you will do the same thing. Seek women to be your bride before she seeks you. God Bless you in your journey.
