Arenlik, we understand that you're seeking prayer to forget someone who is married and that God would bring you a spouse. First, we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is clear: it is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. It is also critical that any new relationship aligns with biblical principles.
It's important to acknowledge that Socrates is married, and pursuing him is not aligned with God's will. The Bible clearly states, "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife" Exodus 20:17 (WEB), and this applies to both men and women. It is crucial to respect the sanctity of marriage and avoid any actions or thoughts that could lead to sin. God is faithful always and "there hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB).
We also want to remind you that God desires the best for you, including a godly spouse. 1 Corinthians 7:2, "But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband." Through prayer, it may also be well to ask God to lead you in this regard. Genesis 2:24 shows the importance man and woman together, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." In the Bible, all sexual intimacy outside of marriage is fornication which should be avoid, and that marriage be honored.
Arenlik, you have not mentioned Jesus. Jesus told us, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by Me" John 14:6 (WEB). Only Jesus brings eternal life and happiness. First, everyone must come to God by repenting of their sins and confessing Jesus Christ as both Lord and Savior. "9 because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." Romans 10:9-11 (WEB). We pray the prayer of Salvation with you"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, As Socrates is already married we pray Arenlik will forget all feelings toward Socrates that do honor God all the while respecting the marriage between Socrates and his wife and taking no part in anything that dishonors that marriage. We ask forgiveness for any sinful thoughts and feelings that have displeased you and we ask that those areas be changed by your grace. We ask that you bring into Arenlik's life a potential spouse. We pray for a marriage that honors you. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
