Cheryl Butler, we are glad to join you in prayer as you seek God's guidance for your living situation in the New Year. We appreciate that you have acknowledged the power of Jesus' name in your request, for it is by His name that we have access to God and can approach Him to request guidance and provision.
As we pray, we remind you of the exhortation in 1 John 5, 14-15:
This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
Therefore, Cheryl as we pray, pleasing God and obtaining His direction is primary. Therefore, we must ensure that our prayers are aligned with His will. The Word of God also gives some things to consider when looking for a place to live in these words from Proverbs 3, 5-6:
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Therefore consider God's prompting that could come by a feeling inside you or another person's guidance or warning. Ensure you are not leaning on your own understanding but seeking the Lord's leading. Also consider finding a quality church community that you can be a part of. Lastly, as you are making a new home, consider your testimony to your new neighbors. We pray that God may have a ministry for you in the new location possibly to neighbors or within the community.
Our prayers include praying that you find a place where you can live safely and be in good health as 3 John 1,2 states:
The elder to Gaius the beloved, whom I love in truth. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.
We do pray that the place you find is pleasing to the Lord and possibly a home you can be a blessing to those in the neighborhood and a place for Christian family to stay if needed. Be wise to look to getting into a good church community.
Father in heaven, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Cheryl Butler. We ask that You guide her to the right place to live in the New Year. Help her to trust in You and know that You hear and answer her requests. Her confidence should always be in You and Your grace at work in her salvation which she received by believing in Jesus Christ and the gospel. Enable Cheryl to be near a good Bible believing body of Christians that encourages her Spiritual walk. Let her be a blessing to her neighbors and community. Guide her to make a choice should you prompt or provide advice to her and others praying for her. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Some further encouragement for you, Cheryl, in your faith and walk can be found in these scriptures:
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Except a man be born again, he can not see the kingdom of God.
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent.
God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
