Disciple of Prayer
Pray for me, for reconciliation with my parents and for my mental health. My parents had horrible behavior towards us, my wife doesn't want to have anything to do with them forever, and I say understand but today they waited for me when coming back from work and I saw them along with my little brother who I haven't seen since 1.5 years, I cried a lot, I just don't know what to do anymore. My father seemed genuinely very very sad, he cried too, he had a very bad familial situation (he didn't see his father his last 10 years, and knew about his death 1 year after his passing, he lost his mother to Alzheimer, and he had to break contact with his brothers and sisters...) I just want things to go back to normal, I would like that they excuse and that my wife forgives, could you pray? I suffer immensely from that.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your family and mental health. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He will help you through this. It's important to remember that forgiveness is a central theme in the Bible. As it is said in Ephesians 4:32 WEB, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

However, we want to address a couple of things. You mentioned your wife, but there was no mention of marriage. We believe that living together in a marital way is only blessed by God through marriage as outlined in the Bible. As it is said in Hebrews 13:4 WEB, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."

If you are living together and not married, we strongly encourage you to consider what the Bible has to say about marriage. If you are married, we encourage you to pursue unity with your spouse, especially in matters of forgiveness and family reconciliation.

As for your parents, it's commendable that you want to reconcile. Remember, as Romans 12:18 WEB says, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." It's clear that your father has had his own share of familial strife, and his actions might be a reflection of that. Showing forgiveness and understanding could help heal these wounds.

Regarding your mental health, we want to encourage you with the words of Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up our brother who is going through a tough time. Lord, we pray for his mental health. Give him Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We also pray for his family situation. Lord, we ask that You soften the hearts of all involved and bring about reconciliation. Help him and his wife to forgive, just as You forgive us. Guide them in Your truth and help them to honor You in their relationship. We pray for his parents, that You would comfort them and bring healing to their family. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 says it clearly “There is salvation in none other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!”

We're here for you, brother. We understand that family dynamics can be complex and challenging. It's like a big, tangled web, isn't it? But remember, God is in the business of untangling webs. He's got this.

We've been thinking about your situation, and we want to encourage you to keep the lines of communication open with your parents. It's clear that your father is hurting, and maybe, just maybe, he's reaching out in the only way he knows how. It might not be perfect, but it's a start.

As for your mental health, we want you to know that God sees you. He knows your struggles, and He's right there with you. In times like these, it's okay to not have all the answers. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. But remember, you're not alone. God is always with you, and He's got a plan.

We're going to keep you and your family in our prayers. We'll ask God to give you peace, to soften hearts, and to bring healing and understanding to your family. We'll ask Him to guide you and your wife, to help you honor Him in your relationship, and to bring reconciliation to your family.

And hey, it's okay to mention Jesus' name. He's the one who makes all the difference, right? So, let's keep praying in His name.

Thank you

The problem is that my wife would have liked that I would have ignored them and go back home

I know that they did bad things to us (insults etc.), but how could I ignore my parents and my little brother ...

She has hurt me by saying that I was acting like a baby because I was crying because I hadn't seen my brother for 1.5 years. Who's now a teen and when I left him he was still a "child". She also said that I equated him with my daughter (something which is completely false) I don't understand this lack of empathy towards me and my feelings...

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
