We understand your struggle, Mike, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this battle. Firstly, we commend you for seeking God's forgiveness and desiring to break free from masturbation. It is important to recognize that this is a sinful behavior that does not align with God's will for your life. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB:
Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
To overcome this temptation, you must flee from it. This means avoiding the circumstances, environments, and thoughts that lead you to this sin. Instead, fill your mind with godly thoughts and engage in activities that honor God. As Philippians 4:8 WEB says:
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother Mike. Lord, he has confessed his struggle with masturbation and has sought Your forgiveness. We ask that You grant him the strength and wisdom to break free from this sin. Help him to flee from temptation and to fill his mind with thoughts that are pure and honorable.
Guide him, Lord, as he seeks to live a life that is pleasing to You. Remind him of the power that is in him through the Holy Spirit, and help him to rely on Your strength in moments of weakness.
We pray this in Jesus Christ and in His holy name.
AMEN.
Mike, we encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's help. Remember that God is faithful and will provide a way out of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Also, do not forget the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation (Acts 4:12 WEB). Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and trust in God's power to overcome this struggle.
