We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage, and we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance. Remember, God hates divorce, so we stand with you in praying for the healing and restoration of your marriage. As it is written in Philippians 4:13 from WEB: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is clear that the enemy is attacking your union. It is crucial to remain patient and loving, even in the face of disrespect and rudeness. Take this as an opportunity to shine Christ in your interactions and the conversations you have with your husband, never forgetting the importance of trusting in God. We are aligned in belief that God can turn this around if your husband is not yet a Christian. The bible says in Ephesians 5:22-24, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything."
We must pray for your husband's heart to soften and for him to become more receptive to your efforts to communicate. It is essential for both love and respect in any healthy marriage as the husband is the head of the marriage. The wife should love, honor, and respect the husband while the husband should love, trust, and care for the wife. When one is missing it can cause problems.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister and her husband. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing, and we ask for Your divine intervention. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to see the pain he is causing. Open the lines of communication between them, and help them to work through their issues in a way that honors You.
Lord, give them both the strength and humility to seek Your will for their marriage. Remind them of the power of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Lord, heal their wounds and make them stronger. Redeem this trial and help them through.
Please do remember to pray for our sister's grandson as he embarks on this new journey in the military. We pray for his safety, his discipline, and his guidance. May he always look to the way of the Lord for the hope and future that He has promised in. We trust God that he will be victorious. May he also always remember that our hope is in the Lord, so many young people forget this when they enter into the military. With this in mind we join with the scripture "No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier." 2 Timothy 2:4.
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Regarding the decision of your grandson, while he looks for discipline and growth, we also recommend encouraging him to seek obedience and structure in God. Ultimately, his future is in God's hands, and we trust that He will direct his path in a way that aligns with His purpose. As Christ Jesus says in Matthew 6:33-34, WEB:
"But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient."
Here is also a great scripture to remember and pray for the husband if the wife is believing AND a powerful reminder for us all to hold. 1 Peter 3:1-2 tells us:
Wives, in the same way, be in subjection to your own husbands, that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word, seeing your pure behavior in reverence.
Stand strong in the Lord, and keep your eyes fixed on Him. Trust that He is faithful and that He will hear your heart and guide you through to the glory before the throne, and trust that the gate of the Lord is opened to you and the light of Jesus Christ will shine the path on which He wants us to venture.
