Thank you, Driewood, for reaching out and sharing your prayer request. We appreciate your faith in the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In marriage, it is crucial to remember that God calls us to love and respect our spouses as we do ourselves. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." and in Ephesians 5:22, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord."
While it is natural to desire change in others, we must first examine ourselves and our own walk with God. In Matthew 7:3-5 WEB, Jesus teaches, "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye? Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Driewood and his wife. Lord, You know the struggles they face, and You desire for them to live in unity and love.
Father, we ask that You would soften both of their hearts and grant them the humility to see their own faults first. Help Driewood to surrender fully to You, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty. Give him the strength to love his wife as Christ loves the church, and guide his wife to respect and honor him as You have called her to do.
Lord, we know that You hate divorce, and we ask that You would heal their marriage and draw them closer to You and to each other. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Driewood, we encourage you to focus on your own relationship with God and to love your wife unconditionally, as Christ loves us. Trust that God is working in her heart as well, and remember that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in both of you. Keep praying and seeking God's will for your marriage, and He will honor your faithfulness.
