Pray for love

My love life has always been a great disappointment and very painful. My relationships with men have been short-lived and we go our separate ways. I am tired and sad. I want my boyfriend, an official one and I am tired of waiting. I am almost ### years old and have never been in an official relationship. I have a lot of trauma including being stood up on a date ### years ago (my first date) and it affected me horribly. Pls make the hurt go away. I deserve love, appreciation, respect and commitment. God would not want me to live a loveless existence.

We understand your pain and disappointment, dear sister. We want to lift you up in prayer and offer guidance grounded in the Word of God.

Firstly, let's address your desire for a loving relationship. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB), we learn about the nature of true love: "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

We pray that God will heal your past hurts and lead you to a man who exemplifies these qualities. However, we want to encourage you to seek God's will in this area of your life. Psalm 37:4 (WEB) tells us, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." As you delight in Him, He will place the right desires in your heart and fulfill them in His perfect timing.

We also want to gently remind you that having a boyfriend is not the ultimate goal. According to biblical principles, romantic relationships should be approached with the intent of marriage, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. In Genesis 2:24 (WEB), we read, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." We encourage you to pursue relationships that align with this principle.

Moreover, we want to address the trauma you've experienced. In Matthew 11:28 (WEB), Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." We pray that you find rest and healing in Jesus' loving embrace.

Lastly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus. It is important to remember that it is only through Him that we have access to God. In John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as your Lord and Savior.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our sister who is hurting and longing for love. Lord, we ask that You heal her past wounds and fill her heart with Your love. Help her to delight in You, and guide her to a godly man if it is Your will.
