We are saddened to hear of the passing of Liu Chia-chang, the renowned Taiwanese singer whose music touched the hearts of many in the Chinese communities from the 1970s to the present. We acknowledge the significant impact his songs and lyrics have had on countless lives, especially through their adaptation in Qiong Yao movies.
Firstly, and I bring this up because it was not mentioned, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. If there was not a reference to Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), I will bring it up in the correct environment. Also, there is no other name by which you can be saved. Make sure to tell your friends and family about the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ. It does not matter if Mr. Chia-chang professed or had faith in God.
God is infinite in love and mercy. Our faith is not dependent on Mr. Chia-chang's personal faith. However, we encourage and remind others that time is fleeting; the ideal transition is acknowledging ones faith in Christ and the assurance of salvation. God desires for individuals to desire for righteousness according to Philippians 2:13. This would mean to have faith in Jesus Christ and acknowledge that we are all sinners. This is the only way to salvation. Please tell others about Jesus' teachings and mainly the simple message that salvation can only come by believing in Jesus Christ. He does not want any to perish according to 2 Peter 3 8-9:
'8 But don't forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.' - 2 Peter 3:8-9
In light of this, we pray for the family, friends, and fans of Liu Chia-chang, that they may find comfort and peace in the Lord during this time of mourning. We pray that his music will continue to bring joy and inspiration to those who listen, and that his legacy will serve as a reminder of the beauty and power of artistic expression. And Christian or not, the sensibility and civility shown in such a passing, reflects Matthew 22:36-40 :
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
We encourage everyone to use this opportunity to reflect on their own lives and to draw closer to God. We pray that those who are grieving will turn to the Lord for strength and hope.
'3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.' - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
In Jesus' name, we pray for the comfort and peace of all those affected by Liu Chia-chang's passing. We ask that God's grace and mercy be with them during this difficult time and beyond.
