We understand the concern for Brian Phe and Ting Poh Yew and will lift them up in prayer, seeking God's will for their lives. Let us address the issues presented and align our prayers with biblical principles.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that God has given us dominion over animals, including eating them for food. As it is written in Genesis 9:3 (WEB), "Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given you everything." Moreover, in 1 Timothy 4:3-4 (WEB), it says, "forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving."
However, we must also address the issue of idolatry and forcing personal beliefs onto others. In Colossians 2:16-19 (WEB), it is written, "Let no one judge you in eating or in drinking, or with regard to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day, which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ's. Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind." It is not right to force others to adhere to personal convictions, especially when it leads to harassment and idolatry.
We also notice that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to remember that it is only through His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up Brian Phe and Ting Poh Yew to You, Lord, and ask that You guide them in their path to righteousness. Help them to understand the truth of Your Word and to live according to Your will. Please deliver them from any form of idolatry and harassment, and help them to respect the beliefs and choices of others.
Lord, we also pray for their health, both physical and mental. Guide them to make wise decisions regarding their diet and to not let it control their lives. Help them to see that You have given us all things to enjoy with thanksgiving.
We also pray for the pastors in St. Andrews Cathedral, that they may be filled with wisdom and discernment to guide Brian Phe into true Christianity. Help him to forsake any other gods and to surrender his life completely to You, Lord Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage Brian Phe and Ting Poh Yew to seek guidance from the Word of God and to trust in Him for their needs. May they come to know the love and salvation of Jesus Christ and live their lives according to His will.
