Pray for ###, ### is getting baptized tomorrow

Please pray for me. I have been experiencing a lot of spiritual warfare since deciding to get baptized. I am getting baptized tomorrow and the enemy is wreaking havoc. Fights and insults, anger from family. Please pray for me to be strong before and after my baptism. Please pray I control my mouth so that I don’t say anything that doesn’t glorify God! Thank you. In Jesus name!

Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says about baptism and the spiritual battle we face:

"We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:4)

"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)

It's not uncommon to face spiritual opposition as you take this step of obedience. The enemy hates to see people publicly declaring their faith in Jesus Christ. But be assured, "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." (1 John 4:4)

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is getting baptized tomorrow. We thank You for the work You have done in their life, drawing them to Yourself and prompting them to take this step of obedience.

Lord, we pray for Your protection over them as they face spiritual warfare. We bind the enemy from causing any more havoc and loose the peace of God in their life. We pray for wisdom and self-control, that they would not say anything that does not glorify You.

Strengthen them before and after their baptism, Lord. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, empowering them to walk in newness of life.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of your faith. Remember, it is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ that we can be saved. So, stand firm in your faith and keep walking with Him.

We've been there too, feeling that spiritual warfare heating up. But remember, greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Let's declare together: "No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment I shall condemn. This is our heritage and our lot" (Isaiah 54:17). Let's claim this promise over you, dear friend, that no weapon the enemy throws at you will succeed, and any words spoken against you will be silenced.

We also pray that you'll be filled with the Holy Spirit, giving you the words to speak when you're baptized, and the strength to walk in newness of life afterward. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6). You're not alone in this; we're cheering you on and praying for you every step of the way.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
