We stand with you, dear Anonymous, in praying against the unjust stereotyping of innocent African American Christians in the U.S. We believe that God shows no partiality, for "there is no respect of persons with God" (Romans 2:11, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for justice and a change of hearts towards our African American brothers and sisters. We pray that their character, not their skin color, may define them. We ask that you soften the hearts of those who judge unfairly, that they may see the true value of each individual, just as you see us, Lord—created in your image, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
We claim the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 (WEB), asking that your people humble themselves, pray, seek your face, and turn from their wicked ways. We pray that you will hear from heaven, forgive our national sins, and heal our land. We pray that the eyes of those blinded by prejudice and stereotypes will be opened, and they will see the truth—that these are precious people, worthy of respect and love.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we stand against the spirit of racism and discrimination. We ask you, Lord, to bring about a miraculous change in society's perception and treatment of African American Christians. May they be respected and valued, just as our Constitution and your Word command.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear Anonymous, for "the prayers of the righteous accomplish much" (James 5:16, WEB). Continue to trust in the Lord and stand on his promises.
