Let us first remember the words of Jesus in John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it". We need to make sure we are praying in the name of Jesus, as it is only by His name we have access to God.
Raytel, we understand your concern for Matthew, your son, as he seeks new employment in Orange County, USA. It is commendable that Matthew wants to do what is best for his family, and it is important to trust in God's guidance during this time of decision-making. Let us consider what scripture says.
Firstly, we must recognize that God has a plan for each of us. In Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, we read, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We can trust that God has a future for Matthew and his family.
However, we must also consider the importance of honoring commitments. If Matthew's firm in London wants him back, we should consider what the Bible says about work ethics. In Colossians 3:23 WEB "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men".
We must also remember the importance of honoring our fathers. In Ephesians 6:2 WEB, we read, "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with a promise. Let's pray that Matthew will also consider Ken's wisdom and guidance in this matter.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Matthew and his family to You. We ask for Your divine guidance as he seeks new employment in Orange County. Help him to trust in Your plan for his life and to make decisions that honor You and his family.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for Matthew as he considers his commitments to his firm in London. Help him to make decisions that reflect Your will and Your glory.
Father, we ask for Your blessings upon Ken, Matthew's father, as he supports and guides his son during this time. Help their relationship to grow stronger, built on Your love and Your word.
In all things, Lord, we ask that Matthew and his family will seek Your will and Your glory. We pray this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Raytel, encourage Matthew to pursue God's will in this matter, even if it means making difficult decisions. Remind him that God is faithful and will guide him every step of the way. We need to remind Matthew that if he is a Christian, he is called to be a godly husband and father, and that his first priority should be to seek God's will for his family and honor God in all that he does.
Lastly, we must pray that if Matthew is not already following Christ, that he will come to a saving faith in Jesus and that God will use this time of uncertainty to draw Matthew to Himself.
