Let's come together in prayer for ###, his parents, and the entire family. First, let's remember God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
As a family, it's crucial to stand together in prayer and supplication, seeking God's will for ###'s life. Let's pray that God will soften ###'s heart, grant him a spirit of obedience, and help him to make wise choices.
###'s behavior, like all humans', is sinful. As Romans 3:23 tells us, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.
If his parents have not already done so, it is important for them to take control of ###'s life and raise him in the fear and admonition of the Lord. It is not God's will for a ### year old to be allowed to make decisions about his own life. It is the parent's job to raise the child in the way that God wants.
Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.
We are praying for wisdom for the parents, that they will be firm in their expectations and discipline, as well as loving and nurturing.
### needs guidance with strong boundaries, and he needs to know that sin has consequences. Proverbs 22:15 tells us Folly is bound up in the heart of a child: the rod of discipline drives it far from him. Let's pray for God to guide his parents in administering appropriate discipline and setting clear boundaries. Pray for the parents to be firm and to avoid caving in to tantrums or manipulation.
We are also praying for ###'s salvation, that he may come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior if he has not already. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.
It is important to remember that the goal is not to just get ### to behave correctly, the goal is for him to become a Christian and grow in the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up ### and his family. Lord, we ask for Your intervention in their lives. We pray for you to grant ### a new heart, that desires to please You and obey his parents. We pray for his parents, that they be given wisdom and strength to guide him.
We pray for their marriage, that they will be unified in their purpose as parents and as a couple, and that their marriage will be strong and honor You, Lord. We pray for this family and their witness, that others may see Your love and love for others through them.
We pray against the devil and his forces of evil, that would want this family to fall apart and be miserable. We pray for protection, and we ask God for this to be a real life example of a modern day Prodigal Son story.
Lord, we ask that You turn this situation around for the good (Romans 8:28). In Jesus Christ name, we pray, Amen.
Lastly, we encourage the family to seek godly counsel from their pastor or a trusted Christian mentor to help navigate this challenging time. God is faithful, and He will provide the strength and wisdom needed to guide ### and the entire family through this.
