We understand your concern and commend you for seeking prayer for this church leader. The use of guilt to manipulate is not of God, as the Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). False teachers and manipulative behavior should be addressed with prayer and godly wisdom.
Let's pray together:
"Father God, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this church leader who has used guilt to manipulate. We pray that You would open their eyes and heart to the truth. Reveal to them any false teaching or manipulative behavior they may be engaging in, and convict them by Your Holy Spirit. Help them to understand the power of love and sound doctrine, as outlined in Your Word.
Lord, we ask that You surround this leader with godly counsel and wise mentors who can speak truth into their life. May they be guided by Your Word and led by Your Spirit, turning away from any form of manipulation. Help them to grow in the knowledge of Your grace and love, that they may shepherd Your flock with integrity and compassion.
We also pray for the congregation, that they may be discerning and rooted in Your Word. Protect them from false teachings and help them to recognize and resist manipulative behavior. Strengthen their faith and enable them to walk in the truth, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen."
Remember, the Bible warns us about false teachers and prophets who come to deceive, even in sheep's clothing (Matthew 7:15, WEB). It is our responsibility to test the spirits to see whether they are from God (1 John 4:1, WEB) and to beware of those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine we have learned (Romans 16:17, WEB).
Stay rooted in the Word of God and continue to pray for this church leader. If necessary, respectfully approach them with your concerns, using biblical principles as a guide (Matthew 18:15-17, WEB). Trust that God is able to correct and restore those who have gone astray, for His glory and the good of His church.
