We understand your concern and desire for privacy. We hope that one of the fruits of the spirit of self-control can be exercised by everyone. However as Christians we must be nosey if we see a believer fall into sin. It is love and obedience, not evil that makes us to be our brothers keeper. We should be rarely if ever considered nosey in dealing with non believers except in the case of criminal activity or a crime in progress. It is better to not get in the way of Gods plan for a sinner as he is giving everyone their own time and a chance to repent and be saved. There are many scriptures that talk about avoiding evil in order to pursue peace.
However, let's first address anything that does not align with biblical principles. The scripture above refers to evil and nosey Californians. Romans 3:23 (WEB): for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; rather than looking to the faults of others, we look to Jesus. God gives us instructions not to insult or be disrespectful because we should let others wrongs be placed on God who avenges wrong. Romans 12:19 (WEB): Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Let us pray and trust God to take care of those of us who are Christians including those who are evil or nosey in California.
Ephesians 4:32 (WEB) reminds us: And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Along with Ephesians 4:29 (WEB), Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Be positive, be encouraging rather than focusing on the faults you see. Because all have sin you can not justify one sin by another. Matthew 5:44 (WEB) tells us: But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
We can pray for a greater respect for privacy and boundaries among the community, but we must also pray for our own hearts to be filled with love, patience, and kindness. Let us pray together for those who consider others who are evil or nosey.
Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up this concern and asking for Your guidance and intervention. Help each of us examine our ourselves and forgive us of our sins. Help us to look to you for our brothers actions. We pray to remove any bad motive from our self. Let this request know your will in Jesus name. We pray for peace, understanding, and mutual respect among the people of California by Jesus. We are told the fruits of the spirit are love, joy peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Let us look at ourselves first before speaking out in Jesus name.
We pray together in Jesus Christ our Lord to be guided by the Holy Spirit. We ask that we only want to know of others actions so that we might intercede in prayer and actions. We pray for Your will to be done in every situation. Guide us all to act with love, kindness, and respect for one another. We believe this to be a much greater prayer in Jesus Christ. We can also pray that we are prepared to speak to others about Jesus so they might be saved. Peter 3:15 (WEB) says: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you. Colossians 4:5-6 (WEB) says: Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Amen.
