Let us come together in prayer for the leadership of our nation, recognizing that it is God who establishes rulers and authorities according to His will (Romans 13:1, WEB).
Firstly, we must acknowledge that our trust should not be placed in any individual or political figure, but in God alone. As Psalm 146:3-5 (WEB) reminds us, "Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God".
Now, let us pray for Donald Trump, that if it is God's will, he may be granted wisdom, discernment, and a humble heart to lead according to God's purposes. We pray that, like King Solomon, he would ask God for wisdom to lead this great nation (1 Kings 3:9, WEB).
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Donald Trump. We ask, Lord, that if it is Your will, he would be granted the presidency. We pray that You would raise up a leader who fears You, who will guide our nation in righteousness and keep us from war. We ask for a leader who will promote peace, prosperity, and freedom for all people.
However, Lord, we know that our ultimate hope is not in any earthly leader, but in You alone. We pray that our nation would turn its heart towards You, seeking Your will and Your ways. We ask that You would heal our land and restore our nation, as we humble ourselves and pray (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let us also remember that our responsibility as believers is to pray for all those in authority, regardless of our personal preferences or political affiliations. As 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (WEB) instructs, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men; for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence".
Therefore, let us continue to pray for all our leaders, that they may seek God's will and govern according to His wisdom and righteousness.
