Valfyl, we join you in praying for your son, Dennis, during this challenging time. We are encouraged by your love and commitment to him, and we trust that God is working in his life even now.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of praying in Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:13-14 WEB, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." It's wonderful that you acknowledged Jesus Christ in your prayer, for it is through Him that we have access to God's throne of grace.
We also want to encourage you with the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. Just as the father in the story waited patiently and lovingly for his son to return, so does God wait for Dennis. No matter what he has done, God is ready to forgive and restore him when he turns to Him.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up Dennis to You. Lord, we know that no walls or circumstances can separate him from Your love. We pray that You would be with him in jail, keeping him safe, healthy, and surrounded by Your angels. We ask that You would minister to his heart, drawing him closer to You. Help him to see his need for You, Lord, and to turn away from any sin that has entangled him.
We also pray for Valfyl, that You would give her strength and wisdom as she supports her son. Help her to trust in You, knowing that You are at work in Dennis's life, even when it's hard to see.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue reaching out to Dennis with love and patience, just as God reaches out to us. Remind him that his actions have consequences, but also reassure him of your unfailing love and God's forgiveness. In Galatians 6:1 WEB, it is written, "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness." May God grant you the wisdom and grace to do just that.
